      This paper offers a close reading of Daniel 8 from the intertextual analysis approach proposed by Gerard Genette in his work Palimpsests. The main focus of the investigation was limited to the search for possible intertexts in this chapter of Daniel and the analysis of how they manifest themselves in its textual plot. Finally, the possible implications of these intertexts for the understanding of the themes of the desecrating force of the sanctuary and the divine judgment in Daniel 8 are briefly explored.       A presente pesquisa aborda Daniel 8 a partir de uma leitura atentiva (close reading) do texto e da abordagem de análise intertextual proposta por Gérard Genette em sua obra Palimpsestos. O foco principal da investigação se limitou à busca dos possíveis intertextos desse capítulo de Daniel e à análise de como eles se manifestam na sua trama textual. Por fim, se explora brevemente as possíveis implicações desses intertextos para a compreensão das temáticas da força profanadora do santuário e do juízo divino em Daniel 8. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
