      The article addresses the question of whether employers are required to pay employees for time spent on employer-sponsored lectures, meetings, training programs and similar activities. It cites four criteria under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that allow attendance at these activities not be counted as working time. Rules regarding pre-employment training programs are also discussed.
