This article presents information related to the project initiated by the Annual North Country Writers Institute and Retreat for Writers of Color which will be held from June 19-25, 2005, in upstate New York. This project is funded by the Nathan Cummings Foundation and is a collaboration between the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers, CUNY; the State University of New York at Plattsburgh; and the Padea Institute and Retreat for Writers of Color. Faculty mentors are Martin Espada for poetry and Sandra Jackson Opoku for fiction.
