    • Abstract:
The article reports on the cross-validation of self-report measures of depression among normal populations of Japanese, Chinese and Caucasian ancestry. The purpose of the present investigation was to cross-validate different self-report measures of depression on normal populations from different ethnic and cultural traditions in order to examine these questions more closely. It was found that in recent years there has been a proliferation of interest in self-report measures of depression; however, there have been relatively few cross-validation studies among the different measures. In addition, there has been no study that compared different measures on normal population or across different ethnic samples.
