    • Abstract:
GERMAN MANUFACTURER DATA MODUL, a leading supplier of ruggedized, touchscreen and embedded displays for medical and industrial applications, is pursuing new business in the military and aviation markets by introducing a line of LCD displays compatible with Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS) goggles. NVIS-compatible displays solve this problem by filtering out IR light (generally wavelengths from ~600 nm to 930 nm, from red/orange to near-IR). The high contrast ratio is particularly important, as displays in NVIS mode operate at much lower luminance levels, which decreases the contrast on a typical LCD display. [Extracted from the article]
