      Comprender la fenomenología de la nutrición en niños y niñas menores de cinco años en familias de la comunidad «La Cal», Jinotega. Se realizó un estudio con abordaje fenomenológico y mediante un muestreo teórico se exploraron las experiencias vividas de ocho madres de niños en relación a su alimentación. Se utilizó la entrevista a profundidad semiestructurada con preguntas abiertas las cuales, posteriormente, se analizaron buscando comprender la realidad de la nutrición infantil explicada por los propios actores. Adicionalmente, se efectuó antropometría y medición de la calidad del agua con el fin de profundizar en dicho análisis. La experiencia vivida es de muchas limitantes para llevar a cabo una completa nutrición de sus hijos, priorizan una dieta a base de carbohidratos y bebidas azucaradas. El inadecuado balance se refleja en el estado nutricional de los niños ya que la mayoría de niños en estudio estaba en riesgo de sobrepeso y con sobrepeso. Se significan las carencias racionalizando para explicar la no inclusión de alimentos como carne, cerdo o alimentos fritos en la dieta diaria. Las familias en estudio conforman un grupo social altamente vulnerable. Los recursos económicos y disponibilidad de alimentos son muy limitadas; sin embargo, por la dieta inadecuada, predomina el riesgo de sobrepeso. La experiencia vivida de limitantes para llevar a cabo una completa nutrición, se deriva en actitudes posiblemente derivadas de la naturalización de la pobreza y en trastornos nutricionales con tendencia a sobrepeso.       To understand the phenomenology of nutrition in girls and boys under five years old in the families from the community "La Cal", Jinotega. A phenomenological approach study was carried out and through a proactive sampling, the lived experiences of eight mothers of children in relation to their diet were explored. The semi-structured in-depth interview with open questions was used, which were subsequently analyzed seeking to understand the reality of infant nutrition explained by the actors themselves. Additionally, anthropometry and water quality measurement were carried out in order to deepen this analysis. The lived experience is one of many limitations to carry out a complete nutrition of their children, they prioritize a diet based on carbohydrates and sugary drinks. The inadequate balance is reflected in the nutritional status of the children since most of the children in the study were at risk of being overweight and overweight. Deficiencies are rationalized to explain the non-inclusion of foods such as meat, pork or fried foods in the daily diet. The families under study make up a highly vulnerable social group. Economic resources and food availability are very limited; however, due to the inadequate diet, the risk of being overweight predominates. The lived experience of limitations to carry out a complete nutrition; it derives in attitudes possibly derived from the naturalization of poverty and nutritional disorders with a tendency to be overweight.
