    • Abstract:
The article presents information on the transition of the Nursing Research Committee to Nursing Research Council (NRCL). The retreat was a very productive day of brainstorming about the development of a NRCL, More than 30 purposes for the NRCL were identified and compiled into a smaller list. The structure of the NRCL membership was to vary from the standard council membership such that each Associate Director of Nursing would have a staff nurse representative. In addition, nine to ten members of nursing leadership, all the clinical nurse specialists, one to two nurse practitioners, faculty members from surrounding schools of nursing, representatives from QI/Compliance, Staff Education, the library, and Shared Governance were invited to join.
