    • Abstract:
The article reports that in October 539 B.C.E., Cyrus, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, entered newly conquered Babylon. Cyrus' actions reflect the attitude of the Achaemenid kings with regard to the religions practiced by their subjects. Although it is uncertain whether Cyrus followed the teaching of Iranian Prophet Spitaman Zarathushtra, most of his Iranian subjects probably did. Although both the Greek and Roman historians had long been writing the history of Iran, the Zoroastrian priests were not interested in this kind of real, written history.
