      The article discusses the opportunity for librarians and readers to consider how to evolve aspects of readers' advisory (RA) services into reader engagement (RE) by focusing some of their attention on readers' experiences of the books they read and how reading itself enriches their lives. Topics include basic components of reader ecology and research published by Kenneth Shearer on the importance of providing a reader with an opportunity to discuss their reading experiences.
