- Abstract: The article explores the myth of the natural teacher which is widespread in the academe. Topics discussed include the mistaken ideas about effective teaching that teacher Sathy had and her success in improving her teaching through an innovative approach, characteristics of a star professor, the use of evidence-based approaches to help improve students' performance, and ways to become an effective teacher.
