    • Abstract:
The article presents information related to information technology business. It reports that AT&T Corp. last week won a $174 million global networking contract from Siemens AG. The four-year deal calls for AT&T to provide Siemens with a management framework using AT&Ts Business-Direct Web portal. Siemens officials said the portal will be used to interact directly with AT&T for the day-to-day management of the Siemens corporate network. Nortel Networks Ltd. and Symantec Corp. last week agreed to jointly deliver products to help companies filter out Internet attacks before they reach servers and other corporate systems. Under terms of the agreement, Nortel will begin shipping application switches incorporating Symantec's signature-based anti-virus and intrusion-detection technologies sometime in 2005. The U.S. Department of the Treasury awarded a $1 billion contract to AT&T Government Solutions and partners to build a new secure high-speed network for its operations. The network would connect more than 1,000 Treasury locations, linking tens of thousands of users around the world with voice, video and data communications.
