Under terms of the agreement, Nortel will begin shipping application switches incorporating Symantec's signature-based anti-virus and intrusion-detection technologies sometime in 2005. The U.S. Department of the Treasury awarded a $1 billion contract to AT&T Government Solutions and partners to build a new secure high-speed network for its operations. The network would connect more than 1,000 Treasury locations, linking tens of thousands of users around the world with voice, video and data communications.
