The article focuses on the framework document, launched among the ancient trees of Windsor Estate, which sets out how the South East should increase the contribution made by trees, woodlands and forestry to the sustainable development of the region. The theme of the framework document include: better places for people to live; seeking to incorporate trees and woodlands into new developments in the region, encourage woodland visits and promote community protects and activities within woods; and enhanced environment and biodiversity, seeking to use woods to enhance the region's environment while making sure the biodiversity and heritage of the woodlands is protected.
