    • Abstract:
Jungian readings of texts have been neglected since post-structuralism and Lacanian readings of texts have become popular. In this essay, a primordial and gender approach via the Tarot is applied to two seminal authors in Afrikaans literature, namely Eugène N Marais and Hennie Aucamp. The primordial wisdom of the Tarot is analysed and an intuitive reading of these texts is done to unlock hidden or arcane messages in the text. The reading is non-scientific, 'arguing' for a more intuitive reading of literature to unlock arcane messages. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
