      Early 2020, the world was shaken by the Covid-19 pandemic issue. This disease is very fast, widespread (global) and has resulted in very large cases of people being infected with Covid-19. This situation has a serious impact on various sectors of life, including the government sector, economy / business, education, tourism, health and others. The central government and regional governments have made a series of efforts to deal with this pandemic situation. Mass communication as a form of early education that is effective and can be directed to the wider community. The problem faced by the government in utilizing the mass media to manage this epidemic crisis is that there are still individuals who spread fake news or hoaxes related to information about this virus. The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the government mass media in Kapuas Regency in dealing with the pandemic in Kapuas Regency. The government's mass media has a very important function, namely monitoring and educating. Mass media supervision should be able to assist the government by carefully monitoring all policies and concrete steps taken by the government in responding to the widespread spread of Covid 19. Mass media education increases public awareness about the pattern of the Covid-19 epidemic, Covid-19 testing methods, and health protocols. The government's mass media builds public optimism where every latest information must be conveyed and remains balanced in reporting because the role of mass media is very important and influential in all aspects of human life during this Covid-19 pandemic.       Awal tahun 2020, dunia diguncang isu pandemik Covid-19. Penyakit ini berlangsung sangat cepat, meluas (global) dan mengakibatkan kasus orang terinfeksi Covid-19 sangat besar. Situasi ini berdampak serius terhadap berbagai sektor kehidupan, mencakup sektor pemerintahan, ekonomi/bisnis, pendidikan, pariwisata, kesehatan dan lain-lain. Pemerintah pusat maupun pemerintah daerah melakukan serangkaian upaya untuk menghadapi situasi pandemik ini. Komunikasi massa memiliki peranan yang penting dan strategis dalam menanggapi berbagai persoalan yang ada. Komunikasi massa sebagai bentuk pendidikan dini yang efektif dan dapat diarahkan kepada masyarakat luas. Masalah yang dihadapi pemerintah dalam memanfaatkan media massa untuk mengelola krisis wabah ini adalah masih adanya oknum yang menyebarkan berita bohong atau hoax terkait informasi tentang virus ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kontribusi media massa pemerintah di Kabupaten Kapuas dalam menghadapi pandemi di Kabupaten Kapuas. Media massa pemerintah memiliki fungsi sangat penting yaitu melakukan pengawasan dan edukasi. Pengawasan media massa seharusnya dapat membantu pemerintah dengan memantau secara cermat semua kebijakan dan langkah konkrit yang dilakukan pemerintah dalam menyikapi meluasnya penyebaran Covid 19. Edukasi media massa meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pola epidemi Covid19, metode pengujian Covid-19, dan protokol kesehatan. Media massa pemerintah membangun optimisme publik dimana setiap informasi terkini harus disampaikan dan tetap berimbang dalam pemberitaan karena peran media massa sangatlah penting dan berpengaruh disegala aspek kehidupan manusia di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini.
