    • Abstract:
The aim of this research was to analyze the identity of two immigrant women who are the protagonist of the short stories The Thing Around Your Neck and The Arrangers of Marriage, written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The theory used in the project was based on post-colonial studies with Bonnici (2012) and Ashcroft (2004), identity studies with Stuart Hall (2006), black feminism with Davis (2016) and hooks (2014; 2019), diaspora with Brah (2002), and others. It was observed that the diaspora suffered by the protagonists was a result of colonialism, which has, as a consequence, cultural disintegration and the double colonization of women, who deal with racism, objetification and repression of their culture. The characters resist through the cultural decolonization and going back to the country of origin. Considering the exposed, this research provides visibility to feminine and black characters, while contributes to postcolonial studies as well as cooperates with post-colonial literature teaching in Brazil. • Abstract:
