    • Abstract:
Pressure ulcers were once viewed as an inevitable consequence of being infirm and bed-ridden. As it has been recognized that this is not the case, pressure ulcers have come to be seen much more as an indicator of the quality of care provided, and are consequently high on the political and health agenda. This article provides an overview of the key aspects of pressure ulcer risk assessment and prevention drawn from a variety of national policy documents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
