      The article discusses research which analyzed the sphingomyelin (SM)/ceramide (Cer) (SM/Cer) biosynthesis in giant cell tumour of bone (GCTB), a tumour of mesenchymal origin. Topics covered include the identification of metabolites that are the altered pathway in GCTB, findings which show that sphingomyelin is the most dysregulated phospholipid, and the results of the examination of the enzymes related to the biosynthesis and hydrolysis of GCTB.
