    • Abstract:
Enough inside learning, it was time to venture outside and observe real prairie plants and animals, so we took a field trip to a prairie plot located near the middle school. Third-grade classroom students expand awareness of their local environment By doing so, students were able to see how the extreme lengths of prairie roots benefit prairie ecosystems. Students learned historical aspects of Iowa's prairies and how prairie alterations changed plants and animals. [Extracted from the article]
