Chemical Peel and Gentian Violet to Treat PPP.

The article describes the case of a 70-year-old African American female who had a history of type 2 diabetes and a pruritic rash of her hands. A likely diagnosis was palmoplantar psoriasis. Trichloroactic acid combined with gentian violet was initiated since use of ointments and lotions did not show improvement. Chemical peel was advised in the succeeding visits along with instruction of applying gentian violet. Significant improvement was noted by the patient.
