- Abstract:
The article focuses on the fossilized tracks of a giant ground sloth and two humans who lived at least 10,000 years ago at White Sands National Park in New Mexico. Topics discussed include the discovery of the tracks by sisters Acoma cultural monitor Bonnie Leno and Acoma Tribal Historic Preservation Office board member Kim Charlie in May 2021, connection of Acoma tribes to the landscape, and role of the tracks as the evidence of late Pleistocene interactions between humans and megafauna.
