      The article argues the benefit of the political economy approach to media to the production studies of race. Topics discussed include the importance of the incorporation of political economy analyses of capitalism to such studies, necessity for state intervention in cultural plurality in cultural production, and the significance of an approach to media that examines the intersection between racial ideology and capitalism as a mode of production, social force and ideology.
