    • Abstract:
Although this consideration did not justify, in our opinion, the use of AEDs without seizures or EEG abnormalities as proposed by some authors [[3]], however, it supports the epileptogenic hypothesis of explaining part of specific related symptoms in stroke-like lesions. However, some authors suggest LAC as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of seizures in patients with MELAS [[6]], considering its safe profile. Here, we report a case of a 10-year-old girl with no significant past medical or family history, who presented an agitation state with aggressive behaviour, flattened affect, irritability and an underhand cognitive impairment.
