Sullivan and several other speakers echoed the fact that most professionals in the water management sector are of an older generation. Officials and water sector professionals warned of ongoing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the nation's water and wastewater utility infrastructure at a Senate hearing on escalating cyber attacks against U.S. utilities and water-management organizations. He added that switching to newer water system management technologies and engaging in best practices will help water sector managers better understand and fend off cybersecurity threats.
