    • Abstract:
Anger divides feminist scholars. Some see in anger an emancipatory tool, an epistemically useful emotion or a downright appropriate reaction in the face of discrimination (Chemaly, Srinivasan). Others warn for the sweet but wrong feeling of revenge that anger might embody (Solnit, Nussbaum). This paper analyses the arguments offered in favour of the two opposing standpoints and suggests that they might not be at odds with one another after all. It proposes that the identification and reappraisal of the emotion of indignation would allow for a unification within the feminist movement as well as a call to action for all concerned about women's liberation without the backlash.
