    • Abstract:
The article reports that silicon industry is missing a trick by failing to take the lead in the broadband market area, according to Tim Johnson of British research company Point Topic Ltd. Johnson said that he sees a ten-fold growth in demand for broadband in certain areas, including video, but is disappointed by the lack of involvement by the silicon industry. According to Johnson broadband is actually growing faster than the mobile industry did. This is due to the fact that fixed broadband is limited to one per household, while mobile is per user.
