The article discusses about the long term effect of DDT (dichloro-diphenyltrichloroethane) on humans. Topics of discussion includes Barbara Cohn, an epidemiologist at Oakland's Public Health Institute studied that the daughters of mothers exposed to the highest DDT levels while pregnant had elevated rates of breast cancer, hypertension and obesity. The endocrine-disrupting chemical interferes with such as the antibiotic triclosan and the antimiscarriage drug diethylstilbestrol.
