The literature on organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior has consistently demonstrated the need to promote justice treatment to employees, regardless of the organizational context (private or government). This approach promotes benefits for both, the organization and employee - supervisor relationship. The purpose of this research was to examine how the employee feels from the perspective of how relevant is it to be treated with justice; how this translates into citizenship behavior; and the relationship between the variables in the context of a private company and a government agency of Puerto Rico. The collected data were analyzed using (a) linear regression, (b) ANOVA, (c) "t" test, (d) F test. The results indicate that organizational justice is related to organizational citizenship behavior and each component of the variables relate to each other. Finally, the investigator discussed the differences between these variables in both sectors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

La literatura sobre la justicia organizacional y el comportamiento ciudadano ha demostrado consistentemente la necesidad de fomentar un trato de justo hacia los empleados, independientemente del contexto organizacional (privado o gubernamental). Este enfoque promueve beneficios, tanto para la organización como para la relación empleado/a - supervisor/a. El propósito de esta investigación fue examinar cómo se siente el empleado desde la perspectiva de cuán relevante es que sea tratado con justicia, cómo se traduce en comportamientos ciudadanos y la relación existente entre las variables en el contexto de una empresa privada y una agencia gubernamental de Puerto Rico. Los datos recopilados se analizaron utilizando (a) regresión lineal, (b) ANOVA, (c) prueba "t", (d) prueba F. Los resultados indican que la justicia organizacional tiene relación con el comportamiento organizacional ciudadano y que cada componente de las variables se relaciona entre sí.
