      The article discusses the big role played by Illumina, a company that develops genetic sequencing machines based in California, in revealing the genetic code of COVID-19. In November 2019 that health authorities in Wuhan, China saw cases of the then mysterious pneumonia-like illness and began to genetically sequence samples to determine what they are dealing with. After revealing the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2, biotech firm Moderna developed a vaccine with the help of Illumina's equipment.
