The article presents a case study of a 19-year-old female with the history of poorly controlled type 1 diabetes mellitus, autoimmune thyroiditis, and a superior mesenteric artery thrombus. Topics include presenting to the emergency department with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea; denying fever, sick contacts, or missed doses of insulin; and computed tomography angiography of the abdomen being performed and revealed circumferential thickening of the infrarenal aorta.
