    • Abstract:
In the debate on academic freedom, the Finnis case has been one of the most recent and one of the ones with the most media coverage. The petition launched by a group of students of the University of Oxford to remove John Finnis from teaching has generated numerous reactions in the press and on social networks. Speaking on speeches about speeches, the linguistic study from the polyphony and argumentation in the language focus (Anscombre & Ducrot 1983) seems the most suitable for the analysis of the treatment that the mass media have given to the debate (Bednarek 2006, 2007, Fairclough 1988, Smirnova 2009). In this paper we have analyzed the strategies of (de)legitimization that have been used to quote foreign statements. Secondly, the presence that has been given to each of the actors involved in the debate has been studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
    • Abstract:
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
