- Abstract:
Malting Barley for Brewing Barley, like other grains, must be malted before it can be usedfor brewing. Barley is a cereal grain, in the samebotanical family (Poaceae) aswheat, maize, rice, oats, rye, andsorghum. Additionally, climate change is making itmore risky to grow barley in the formersouthern edge of die barley regions. Finally, to make pale barley malt, spread the grain ina thin layer-one kernel deep-over a cookie pan, andkiln the grain in an oven at 180 degrees for four hours. [Extracted from the article]
