The author offers insights on the possible application of fiction writing techniques by historians in the creation of archives and history books. Topics discussed include the highlights of the 1987 book "Fiction in the Archives," by historian Natalie Zemon Davis, the depiction of African American women in the archives in the early 20th century according to scholar Saidiya Hartman, and the possibility of writing a scholarly and fictive history explained by Hartman.
