Various mining publications were published in Romania and delivered to the public and to production specialists, researchers, designing and education professionals such as: Romanian Mining Annals - 1918-1948 Mining and Metallurgy - 1922-1927 Mining - 1926-1948 Mining Revue - 1950-present Every publication above has reflected the development and the achievements of Romanian mining. Within the departments from the Petrosani Mining Institute there were elaborated numerous Ph.D. thesis in the field of ore deposits exploitation and capitalization, mining and preparation plants mechanization and automation, mining activity design and organization, etc. Therefore, the mining researchdesign activity in Romania decreased continuously every year, due to the reorganization and to the accentuated decrease of mining production, to the lack of funds for supporting the research-design activities, to the equipment used becoming obsolete, to the researchers migration towards other activity sectors more safe and better paid etc. 26 Revista Minelor / Mining Revue- 4 / 2020 The main activity of the research-design institutes, in their latest years of existence was the preparation of documents for the mining conservation and closure and for the environmental restoration from the past mining areas.
