- Abstract: The present work had as its objective to evaluate the students' comprehension of the senior year of different undergraduate courses of a public university of Paraná in reference to the scientific investigation theme. The methodological pathways included the application of the The Views About Scientific Inquiry (VASI) questionnaire, developed and validated by Lederman et al. (2014), applied to 72 students. For the comprehension analysis it was based on the eight criteria proposed by Lederman et al. (2014), with the answers provided classified, according to this author, into: näive, informed, mixed or did not answer. Most students presented näive conceptions regarding the evaluated aspects related to scientific research. Despite appearing in a small number, informed understandings were concentrated on some issues. It was expected that there would be a greater number of informed visions as future education professionals. This indicates that the elements of the Scientific Research process evaluated by VASI may not be explicitly addressed in teacher education, even if in a university environment there is a privileged contact with scientific research. Os percursos metodológicos contemplaram a aplicação do questionário The Views About Scientific Inquiry (VASI) desenvolvido e validado por Lederman et al. (2014), aplicado a 72 estudantes.
