      This article analyzes the relationships between migration and social mobility based on the migration routes of individuals categorized as descendants of slaves within Haalpulaar society. It focuses on the socioeconomic and political effects of the success of migration on those who stayed in the country. While describing how migration contributes to the reconfiguration of powers and the multiplicity of social classifications, the article shows that the statutory variable remains present in the way migrants experience their social mobilities, thus raising questions about the meaning given to success and the issue of its recognition.       Cet article analyse les rapports entre migrations et mobilités sociales à partir de parcours d'individus catégorisés comme descendants d'esclaves au sein de la société haalpulaar. Il s'intéresse aux retombées socio-économiques et politiques de la réussite migratoire sur ceux restés au pays. Tout en décrivant comment la migration contribue aux recompositions des pouvoirs et à la multiplicité des classements sociaux, l'article montre que la variable statutaire reste présente dans la manière dont les migrants vivent leurs mobilités sociales, conduisant ainsi à s'interroger sur le sens donné à la réussite et sur l'enjeu de sa reconnaissance.
