HARMFUL AGENTS OF FIR IN THE AREA OF CENTRAL BOSNIA. (English)
- Abstract:
Healthy forests are essential for the maintenance and improvement of wood resources and services related to forest ecosystems, but there is a large number of adverse factors that can cause the stopping of growth and drying of trees. For this reason, the health and vitality of forests are considered as one of the main criteria for sustainable forest management. The causes of the negative impact on forest health include biotic (pathogenic fungi, harmful insects, parasitic flowering plants, phytopathogenic bacteria, viruses, nematodes, small rodents, large wildlife, etc.) as well as abiotic agents (fires, windstorms, snow, extremely high and low temperatures, late or early frost, ice or drought, etc.). Certain anthropogenic influences such as incorrect application system of management, or air pollution should also be included in abiotic factors in the analysis of forest health. - Abstract:
