      Cellular biology addresses topics of interest related to life and the environment, with very disciplined concepts and data. The educational system must facilitate its teaching to form individuals who interpret the relations between science and society. The purpose of this research was to analyze the conceptual contents of cellular biology present in the study program and the textbooks of third year of Secondary Education of Venezuela. It is a descriptive and analytical research with bibliographic design. The units of analysis were made up of two study programs and five books of the area. The information was obtained by means of a documentary observation. The results indicated that in the textbooks the data prevail as conceptual contents, similar results were observed in the Study Program. There is an increase in conceptual contents in the books regarding the Study Program. It is suggested to review and restructure Curriculum Resources including innovative strategies.       La Biología celular aborda temas de interés relacionados con la vida y el entorno, con conceptos y datos muy disciplinares. El sistema educativo debe facilitar su enseñanza para formar individuos que interpreten las relaciones entre ciencia y sociedad. El propósito de esta investigación fue analizar los contenidos conceptuales de biología celular presentes en el progama de estudio y los libros de texto del tercer año de Educación Secundaria de Venezuela. Es una investigación descriptiva y analítica con diseño bibliográfico. Las unidades de análisis las conformaron dos Programas de Estudio y cinco libros del área. La información se obtuvo por medio de la observación documental. Los resultados indicaron que en los libros de texto prevalecen los datos como contenidos conceptuales, resultados similares se observaron en el Programa de Estudio. Se observa un incremento de contenidos conceptuales en los libros respecto al Programa de Estudio. Se sugiere la revisión y reestructuración de los recursos curriculares con inclusión de estrategias innovadoras. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
