Nudeness, underwear - taboo topics in religious orders? (English)
    • Abstract:
Man is a being of body and spirit. These elements of the essence of humankind are inseparable and complementary as a whole. Giving spirit above the body or vice versa disturbs this delicate balance. The body is not only an excuse or consequence of a sin, but the spirit is not insignificant and unclear. Dualistic understanding of a man can have connotations associated with work and rest, creation and destruction. This can also be applied to the seemingly prosaic sphere of clothing, but its shortage. It sounds paradoxical, but nudeness and clothing can have a spiritual dimension. The author of the article deals with the concept of nudeness in the Holy Scriptures during individual periods of history, and similarly deals with underwear, its meaning and development.
