      Viburnum tinus L. is a shrub native to the Mediterranean basin. Because of its sedative and antispasmodic activities, it is often used as a folk medicine in Europe. Phytochemical researches have shown that numerous chemical components, including iridoid glycosides, diterpenes, triterpenes, coumarin, flavonoids and anthocyanidins have been isolated from Viburnum tinus L.. This study reviewed the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Viburnum tinus L. to provide a reference for further researches. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
