This article focuses on blueprints for residential construction which are copyrighted intellectual property in the U.S., and presents several guidelines to builders. These guidelines suggest builders or one, who are planning for a construction, about certain cares that should be taken while building a home so that no violation of copyright could take place. The article suggests to purchase enough copies of the blueprints to satisfy building requirements. As a rule for a home or project plan, one will need a set for oneself, two or three for his/her builder and subcontractors, two for the local building department, and one to three for one's mortgage lender.
