The scientific value of Sibawayh's book. (English)
    • Abstract:
This research investigates a significant topic in the field of grammatical studies. It introduces a reading of the contents of Sibawayh’s book, aiming to clarify its scientific value from the scholars’ perspectives in the past and in the present. Besides, it aims at tackling the similarities between the book and the modern linguistic approaches since it is the first comprehensive book that came to the generations involving all the rules of the Arabic language, the rules of its syntax, morphology, dialects, sounds, and modes of readings. Moreover, the study aims to demonstrate that Sibawayh’s book is a scientific book because it represents the basis of the Arabic grammatical theory and the structure of its building, unlike what was circulated in narratives, that it is an educational book written for the purpose of imparting the language grammar to those who do not master it.
