La Tarde: 51 years of journalism and censorship in Spain (1927-1978). (English)
    • Abstract:
The censure was an ungrateful companion of voyage during most of the life of the newspaper La Tarde (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, October 1, 1927 - March 29, 1982), being present during the dictatorship of the generals Miguel Primo de Rivera, Francisco Franco and even the Second Republic. In line with its liberal idea, it suffered the continuous scourge of the previous censorship, fines and reprimands by the governmental authority, especially during the Franquismo, with whom it avoided to confront openly it for a simple reason of survival. After 55 years of history, La Tarde closed, but his printed heritage reminds us that, despite political interferences, good journalism is possible. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
    • Abstract:
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
