      The article discusses the assessment and management of patients with auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD). Topics include the effects of ANSD on the neural processing of sound, language development, and communication ability of patients, the incidence of ANSD in premature infants and infants in the neonatal intensive care units (NICU), and the use of otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and auditory brainstem responses (ABR) in the assessment of ANSD.
