      An editorial is provided which discusses efforts in the SARS-CoV-2 testing in the US during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on pooled testing, including the consideration of using pooled tests by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). An overview of the role that the prevalence of COVID-19 positive tests plays in pooled testing is provided.
