Telehealth and telenursing in time of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic crisis has already flooded the adoption of telehealth in a wide range of remote care applications. The growing demand for telemedicine and telenursing systems has led to a push by digital system providers for immediate solutions and applications to citizens, health professionals and public bodies as tools to tackle the pandemic. The distancing and fear of transmitting the virus has made many telemedicine applications and systems vital tools where possibly most important of them are contact detection, reporting and monitoring of possible or confirmed cases. The use of telemedicine and telenursing seems to be spreading rapidly in the field of health with good prospects for its survival and further dissemination. Digital applications and solutions for distance medical and nursing care have been around for several years but on the occasion of the COVID-19 pandemic they began to offer more possibilities in the training of health professionals, the monitoring and management of patients, the prevention of the risk of infection from the virus as well as a variety of other fields. However, there are still many obstacles to overcome at many levels, most significantly the risk of personal data breach. In any case, the undeniable advantages of telehealth can only make it an evolving necessity in the immediate future of healthcare. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Η κρίση της πανδημίας του COVID-19 έχει ήδη κατακλύσει την υιοθέτηση της τηλεϋγείας σε ένα μεγάλο φάσμα εφαρμογών στη φροντίδα από απόσταση. Η αύξηση της ζήτησης για συστήματα τηλεϊατρικής και τηλενοσηλευτικής έχει οδηγήσει σε μια πίεση των παρόχων ψηφιακών συστημάτων για άμεσες λύσεις και εφαρμογές σε ζητήματα πολιτών, επαγγελματιών υγείας αλλά και δημόσιων φορέων ως εργαλεία για την αντιμετώπιση της πανδημίας. Η αποστασιοποίηση και ο φόβος της μετάδοσης του ιού, έχει αναδείξει πολλές εφαρμογές και συστήματα τηλεϊατρικής σε ζωτικής σημασίας εργαλεία με σημαντικότερα ίσως αυτήν της ανίχνευσης επαφών και αναφοράς και επιτήρησης των πιθανών ή επιβεβαιωμένων κρουσμάτων. Η χρήση της τηλεϊατρικής και της τηλενοσηλευτικής φαίνεται να εξαπλώνεται επιτακτικά στο χώρο της υγείας με καλές προοπτικές για την παραμονή της και περαιτέρω διάδοσή της. Ψηφιακές εφαρμογές και λύσεις για την εξ αποστάσεως ιατρική και νοσηλευτική φροντίδα υπάρχουν εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια αλλά με αφορμή την πανδημία του COVID-19 άρχισαν να προσφέρουν ολοένα και περισσότερες δυνατότητες στην εκπαίδευση των επαγγελματιών υγείας, την παρακολούθηση και διαχείριση των ασθενών, την πρόληψη από τον κίνδυνο μόλυνσης από τον ιό αλλά και σε πληθώρα άλλων πεδίων. Ωστόσο πολλά εμπόδια μένει να ξεπεραστούν σε πολλά επίπεδα με κυριότερο αυτό του κινδύνου παραβίασης των προσωπικών δεδομένων. Σε κάθε περίπτωση, τα αδιαμφησβήτητα πλεονεκτήματα της τηλεϋγείας δεν μπορούν παρά να την καθιστούν ως μία εξελισσόμενη αναγκαιότητα στο άμεσο μέλλον της υγειονομικής περίθαλψης.
