      The article offers a call for a national agenda for a healthy, equitable and sustainable food system in the U.S. The author describes how our current food system damages the environment as well has human health. Food production, processing and transportation are responsible for deforestation, loss of biodiversity, water pollution and 25% of greenhouse gas emissions. The lives of rural and urban food workers have worsened since the election of Donald Trump. Food insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic is also discussed.
