The main goal of this research is to analyse the concept of urban acupuncture, which is an object of this study, as an urban planning strategy and discuss possibilities for its application in historical district of Kaunas - Vilijampole. The methodology of this research combines the following principles of qualitative analysis: 1. The theoretical concept of a healthy city in urban history is contextualised by a discussion of historical sources and scientific publications selected on the basis of the criteria assessment, overview and discussion. The main criteria used to select publications were as follows: discussion of relationship between urban solutions and health and analysis or discussion of health benefits of urban vegetation. 2.
