    • Abstract:
      The article presents results of a survey on preferences of social workers (n=256) for different levels of practicing the profession. A conceptual model which explains and supports categories of direct and indirect social work was used. This way the measurements and the analysis lead to an establishment of a quantitative appearance of two methodological orientations of the survey participants: micro-and macro-practical orientation. According to the results of the survey some summarizing and conclusions about the preferences of the professionals for a definite type of practicing were made. The analysis leads also to a conclusion about the accordance between estimated methodological orientation and the needs of a real practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
