The article presents information on journalism graduates. Largely because of the rising number of applicants to graduate journalism programs who have no professional or academic journalism training, predicting students' performance on the basis of various admissions measures and criteria has become an increasingly intuitive art in the 1970s. To add to the growing body of knowledge developing on the subject, we analyzed admissions criteria as predictors of success in Indiana University's graduate journalism program from 1970 to 1977.
