Bright Torches of the Characteristics of Al- Abbas (Peace be upon him). (English)

Abi Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas's (pbuh) personality has been immortalized since his martyrdom till the present time due to his being distinguished by noble and high morals and also by unique stands . He was a commanding leader and active member in Al- Husainy’s uprising resulting in his getting an everlasting badge of honour in the history of martyrdom as no one both past and present، could or would reach his degree or rank in martyrdom because he has had his considerable position which distinguishes him from all the other martyrs in Islam . Imam Zainul- Abideen (pbuh) showed such considerable position by saying : To Allah، the Most High and Blessed، Al- Abbas has a position that’ all martyrs envy him on the Day of Judgement، as his saying all martyrs ‘ implies and suggests generality ; it includes those who resemble him in losing their hands in the battle field such as Jaafar Al- Tayyar or those who don’t such as Hamza whose liver was eaten after his being died martyr . Envy means wishing to reach or approach the position of the person envied . Allah، the Most High،granted such a distinguished position to Al- Abbas (pbuh) as a reward for all that he did for the sake of Allah، the most High and for the sake of his brother، Imam Husain (pbuh) in Karbala as he showed loyalty، patronage altruism،self-esteem، patience and sacrifice. All these characteristics together were considered characteristics of Al -Abbas (pbuh) only in supporting Imam Husain (pbuh) son of Prophets ‘(pbuh& progeny) daughter . Inspite of the great number of supporters and also those who died martyrsin battlefields all through history، but still no one has superiority over Al -Abbas (pbuh) and as a consequence Allah،the Most High granted him such a distinguished position . Because of such a high position for such a hero،the researcher found it important to shed light on the different sides of his life and his biography together with the characteristics by which he was characterized so as to bring them into view and then analyse them but with no monotonous prolixity or violative brevity wishing to fulfil this goal. لقد خُلِّدت شخصية أبي الفضل العباس عليه السلام منذ استشهاده وحتى يومنا الحاضر، وذلك لما اختصّت به من أخلاق نبيلة سامية و مواقف فريدة أو نادرة، فكان قائدًا بارزًا وعنصرًا فعَّالاً في النهضة الحسينية حتَّى نال وسامًا خالدًا في تاريخ الشهادة والكرامة، فلم ولن يرقى إليه شهيد مِن الشهداء، لأنَّ له منزلة رفيعة متميزة عن باقي الشهداء في الإسلام، وقد بين الإمام زين العابدين عليه السلام هذه المنزلة بقوله: (إن للعباس عند الله تبارك وتعالى لمنزلة يغبطه بها جميع الشهداء يوم القيامة) فقوله: (جميع الشهداء) يدلّ على العموم، فيشمل مَن ماثله بفقد اليدين في ساحة القتال كجعفر الطيار، و يشمل مَن لم يماثله كحمزة الذي أُكِلَتْ كبده بعد الشهادة، والغبطة معناها تمنّي حصول ما حصل عليه المغبوط، وهذه المنزلة الرفيعة منحها الله تعالى للعباس عليه السلام جزاءً لما قدَّمه لله تعالى ولأخيه الإمام الحسين عليه السلام في كربلاء مِن الوفاء و النصرة والإيثار والإباء والصبر والتضحية، وكلّ هذه الخصال مجتمعة اختصّ بها العباس عليه السلام وحده في نصرة الحسين ابن بنت رسول الله عليه السلام رغم تعدد الأنصار وكثرة الشهداء في ساحات الجهاد على مرّ التاريخ، فلم يتقدَّمه أو يتأخَّر عنه شهيدٌ بمثلها لذا خصَّه الله تعالى بهذه المنزلة الرفيعة، ولأجل هذه المنزلة العظيمة الَّتي حازها هذا البطل رأى الباحث أنّ مِن المناسب أنْ يُسلَّط الضوء على جوانب مختلفة من حياته وسيرته و بعض المزايا التي اختصّ بها لإبرازها و تحليلها دون إسهاب مملٍّ أو إيجاز مخلٍّ آملاً أن يكون الباحث قد وفِّق للغرض المطلوب.
